Every student deserves the opportunity to feel like someone sees and hears him/her. Students must know they have someone in the building that gives the the freedom to be uniquely themselves. That is why representation matters.

Absolutely agree. All across the United States, the teacher demographic is largely white and female, and I oftentimes wonder what this is doing for/to all students, who rarely will see themselves in leadership or nurturing positions.
