A good photo last a lifetime. As such, I spend lots of time scouring Pinterest and Instagram for amazing photo opportunities. Being stuck at home for the moment limits the photos taken at parts, on vacations, at beaches, poolside, etc. Yet, life is still taking place.

Since my current purpose is tied to documenting moments and sharing lessons learned along the way, here are 25 photos you can create to document your own moments without leaving your home (although some of them do take place in your yard).
1. Porch photo
Put up a cute wreath and door mat. Maybe even throw in some extra porch decor and snap away.

2. Photo with kisses
I love kisses. Kisses on the forehead are great and so are kisses on the cheek. Kisses make people feel warm and loved.

3. Family selfie
Unfortunately, we do not have personal photographer at our disposal to get all the family photos so selfies have to do sometimes. Family selfies, though, can be so fun. Can you get everyone in the photo at once? Is everyone looking at the camera? What will the final photo look like? Family selfies create the best memories.

4. Chalk Art Photo
Chalk art can transform a photo. There are limitless colors and possibilities.

5. Zoo Animal Photo
Google has the ability to bring virtual animals right to your home. Google the name of the animal. Click the “view in 3D” option, and watch the animal appear before you.

6. Letterboard photo
Funny sayings, cute sayings, or simple facts can all be communicated via letter boards. Stamp out moments in time by spelling out what makes right now so special.

7. Flowers Photo
Nature always adds just what a family photo needs.

8. Hugs Photo
Because who does not love hugs to go with all those kisses?

9. Hearts photo
Hearts have made a comeback as a result of the recent pandemic. You can use hearts as a background, or you can use your hands to make the heart symbol.

10. Off guard photo
There is power in catching yourself and your family in photos in their natural environment doing what they normally do.

11. Couch photo
Set up the whole family, the kids, or just you two as a couple on the couch and snap away.

12. Message photo
Have the family hold signs that create a message. Or write words/letters on hands or feet.

13. Feet photo

14. Holding hands photo

15. Door mat photo

16. Laughing photo
Laughter is the best medicine. When families laugh together, even when it is forced, it creates tons of family fun. Laughing photos make awesome family photos and memories.

17. Pick a prop photo
Pick a prop from around the house, and add it to your photos. Seasonal theme props are the best – Christmas decor, pumpkins, spring decor, etc.

18. Sleeping photo
Something about the peacefulness of sleep is so calming.

19. Funny faces photo
Funny faces never get old. Just like the laughing photo, funny photos leave you feeling great!

20. Stairs photo
Stairs are so good for photos. If you do not have stairs inside your house, you can always take pictures on the stairs leading up to your house or porch.

21. Filtered photo
Snapchat, Facebook, and Instagram all have filter capabilities where you can add animal faces or headbands to photos for some extra family photo fun.

22. Matching clothing photo

I love a mommy and me photo session with my daughter, but I have also done matching family pajamas and color themes for family photos (example blue jeans and white shirts).

I especially love the feet idea, and that’s hilarious that the dog got into your flowers on the eyes picture! LOL 😂😂

Any time that we lay on the ground, the dog joins in for the fun. I guess he feels like we are finally on his level. Thank you!
