Start Somewhere (with GIVEAWAY)

This time last year was tough for me.  My entire life was a constant state of overwhelmed.  Work was too much.  Home life was too much. I felt like no matter what I did, I never adjusted so I spent massive amounts of time learning balance.  I decluttered my time.  I decluttered my to-do list. I changed my focus.  Then I accepted life as is.  I accepted that it was okay not to be okay, and I just kept moving – one foot in front of the other.

I remember a Fall Family Fun Challenge that Felicity Bee put together.  I think that challenge helped me cope more than anything else.  Something about it forced me to focus on what I loved about the present.  It forced me to start….somewhere….anywhere.  This fall, so many pieces of my puzzle have begun to fit together.  I live life with a new normal. My to-do lists are much shorter.  My free time is better spent.

This, though, did not happen overnight.  This came about after many tears and heartfelt prayers both from myself and those who love me most in the world.  As such, I have decided to pay it forward.  I developed a challenge to help those like me – those who could use a nudge in the right direction.  This is for moms who need a break, for teachers who have hit the brick wall, for parents who are hanging on a by a thread which cannot support their weight.  This is for anyone who needs to start over after they have already started over and over…and over.

Fall in Love More challenges you to fall back in love with the life you have been given. Enjoy the day to day ordinary, and watch your life transform into extraordinary.

I dare you to redirect your attention to what you love – to who you love.  Focus your energy on the allure of nature around you.  Take note of the changes in the season no matter how subtle.  Life is not always full of complexities and profound revelations as Minister Aldtric Johnson so wonderfully explained.  Notice the beauty of simplicity.

I intentionally left numbers off the list.  I did not want another item to check off your to-do list.  I just wanted you to start somewhere…anywhere.  You have the entire fall season to participate.  I wanted you to begin to fall in love again your surroundings, to find the perfections in your imperfection.  Life life is meant to be lived not perfected.  Love is perfect and imperfect all at once, and so is fall.

So join me as we celebrate life as is, as we develop new normals.  Use the hashtag #fallinlovemore to document your progress.  I dare you to rediscover the extraordinary of your ordinary.

  1. I am reminded of the beauty of everyday life each time I wake up in the morning and see the sun and hear the birds sing. I am aware in this moment that the Lord has allowed me to see another day so that means I still have work to do for His Kingdom.😊

  2. I am sharing this! Autumn is my favorite season, and between renovating the new house and work and weddings and etc., etc., etc., I have been afraid I won’t enjoy it at all. I’m going to use your list as my motivation to take time out to just BREATHE and ENJOY!

  3. Hey Brittany, I can’t believe I wasn’t following you on IG before! But I am now. 🙂
Thanks for reminding me to savour the little things. To answer your question, I love flowers and am reminded about everyday beauty whenever I see them. Lucky for me that I can usually find them wherever I turn.
    Blessings to you!

    1. I think you were at one point. I shut down my oridinarilyordinarymom account. Just one day after a talk with God in prayer, He revealed that for me He needed people not to see Brittany the person and Brittany the Blogger as two different people. I’m quite impulsive so I did not take any the to write down and follow my favorites from my personal IG. So glad you found me. How are you and your family??

      1. Whew…I thought I was losing it. Lol.
We’re doing well. I think ‘grateful” sums it up best. We’ve been through a lot of transitions lately but through all of them God remains good. Yes, even through the painful ones. Thanks for asking, friend.
